Limb Salvage for Diabetic Foot Problems/Wound Care
Diabetic foot ulcers are complex and require a multidisciplinary approach to have a successful outcome. In order to heal, the ulceration needs to be free of infection, the blood flow into the foot/leg needs to be optimal and appropriate offloading (pressure reduction) of the ulceration is imperative.
For more complex wounds, patients are treated at either the Inova Mount Vernon Wound Healing Center or the Inova Fairfax Wound Healing Center.
